Several different electrode configurations have a voltage applied to them. The region between the electrodes is assumed to be free of charges. The differential equation for these configurations, Laplace's equation, is solved in each case either analytically or with an I.B.M. 70140 computer using finite difference techniques. These results are then used to find the available body forces along a flat plate placed between the electrodes. The results are non-dimensionalized and an attempt is made to determine the possible value of each configuration in condensing heat transfer.
