Abstract

The NeuroSky headset is a commodity EEG product that is available cheaply and claims to measure brains signals by means of three electrodes located on the ear and temple. The headset is purported to provide signals which are useful in determining the state of the brain, especially with regards to levels of concentration and relaxation. We attempt to explore these possibilities by analyzing EEG data collected in the course of a variety of activities and attempting to algorithmically distinguish between them.
