Abstract
The oxidation of tannic acid by ozone was studied in a continuous flow, stirred tank reactor at steady state. Reaction products were characterized by the following analyses: chemical oxygen demand (COD), total organic carbon (TOC), and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD). Results indicate that ozonation of tannic acid reduces COD, TOC, and BOD.
