| dc.description.abstract | All dreams are unique, yet they share commonality in reflecting the human subconscious. People in the field of music, especially composers, often write music in reaction to a dream. I had this experience, and I became more interested in how strangely my subconscious unfolds the stream of scenes than in the music that I heard in the dream. After waking up, I realized that even though there is no correlation between the first and the last scenes in the dream, there has always been an inevitability from one scene to another. I was inspired by this illogical progression which is a reflection of our subconscious, and this is reflected in the very free formal structure of this work. I put more emphasis on directionality, going from one stream of sound to another, so that the piece could portray the ambiguous boundary of the dreamer who is both creator and the observer of the scene at the same time. | en_US |
