dc.description.abstractAmyloid proteins are a broad class of proteins that are implicated in a wide number of diseases. This thesis explores the use of photoluminescent ruthenium(II) complexes for the detection of amyloid aggregation. Furthermore, we report the detection of amyloid aggregates from test tube to cell culture using photoluminescent and lifetime measurements.en_US
