Item Fibred interrogarities(2001) Rodriguez, Marie Ivette; Biln, JohnIn a language of muscled lines and ductile interlacings, body, fibers and space coalesce into form. A visceral reciprocity, where all three shuttle, spin, knot and bind, generating an intangible weave through nimble transit, leaving an eidetic residue, space. I explore and expand the negotiations of self and its spatial affects, with the characteristics of fiber. To operate on this relationship, I choose to dismantle, as to reveal, fragments of cells, filaments, bone, stalks, blood, fibrils. I undertake experiments that apply methods of weaving, tales, stitching and drawing. This hybrid approach exposes the latent qualities of each element. Through these investigations, a process develops that transforms and extracts repressed gestures in/of space. I posit a manner of thinking body/fiber/space where my surroundings and I construct each other, providing a continuum of information, allowing the creative act of existence and emergence of my body in space.
