Problems associated with the testing of advanced composites are presented along with recommended solutions for these problems. Ultimate tensile strength, Young's modulus, ultimate compressive strength, compressive modulus, ultimate shear strength and shear modulus were determined for a carbon fiber reinforced composite material. Fiber volume fraction was determined for various fiberglass preforms. Finally, ultimate tensile strength and Young's modulus were found for fiberglass reinforced composite coupons made in a test press at SAR.49 p.application/pdfengCopyright is held by the author, unless otherwise indicated.
