The design of a merging beams apparatus is outlined, and detailed design considerations for the beam-forming portion of the apparatus are given. Results of preliminary testing of the beam-forming portion of the apparatus show that the beams produced have the high current and low divergence required for merging beams experiments.132 ppengCopyright is held by the author, unless otherwise indicated.
