<dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract">Response Development is a proposal for a new problem-solving technique. It is a realization that current methods of problem-solving, when taken individually, prove to be less than adequate. The critique has grown out of an analysis of current models of sustainable development, but is applicable in a much broader realm. It is representative of a crisis in micro- versus macro-level action, and signifies a shift away from centralized, linear forms of decision-making to localized, adaptive processes. Response Development contends that we can make advances in our development efforts through the deployment of these new methods.</dim:field>
