<<First Name *>>,
First, we want to acknowledge that many of us are continuing to suffer in a variety of ways right now--and with the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, these hardships may be increased for some. Please know that we are grateful for each of you and hope that this finds you doing as well as can be. If you feel so inclined, please read on for some updates regarding our research and our team.

RPLP is celebrating 10 years and wants to hear from you!
The Religion and Public Life Program is celebrating its ten-year anniversary this fall 2020 with an anniversary video, and we are looking for participants. If you have worked with us in the past, attended events, or simply followed our work from afar over the past 10 years, please consider submitting a video. We will be compiling these and sharing the full version before the end of the year.
Please consider filming a brief video responding to one of the following prompts:
- What have you learned about research on religion from RPLP?
- What do you consider to be the RPLP’s greatest achievement in the past 10 years?
- What has your experience with RPLP helped you accomplish in your work or personal life?
A few guidelines:
- Film with a horizontal orientation, in wide-screen format.
- Submit your video as an mp4 file.
- Video should be one minute or less.
- If you'd like, start with a brief introduction. For example, “My name is Jane Smith and I regularly attend RPLP events.”
- Deadline to submit your video: Monday, November 30.
- Upload your video file here: https://rice.app.box.com/f/6bc27106e7c74090a627ea8d81ce4ef4.
Thank you for celebrating this important anniversary with us!

POLARIZED SCIENTISTS? - Findings from this recently published article suggest that, indeed, the science‐religion interface holds political meaning for scientists, but in different ways across the political spectrum. Findings also point to the critical role of politics in shaping scientists’ attitudes and identities, which may have implications for the scientific enterprise, both at the lab bench and in the political sphere.
