Title: Atmospheric species concentrations and reaction rates relevant to N2 chemistry derived from WACCM-X model used in Yeung et al., Extreme enrichment in atmospheric 15N15N. Sci. Adv. 3, eaao6741 (2017). Date: 17 November 2017 Data description: This dataset contains species concentrations and reaction rates relevant to N2 chemistry derived from the Whole Atmosphere Community Climate Model with thermospere and ionosphere extension (WACCM-X), data set f.e10.FWX.f19_f19.control.001, for model year 2001. Grid spacing and pressure levels are standard quantities used for the National Center for Atmospheric Research Community Earth System Models. Assumptions used when calculating reaction rates are detailed in the related paper (Yeung et al. 2017). Dataset format is netCDF. Data field descriptions follow below: Grid-level quantities: lat - Latitude (degrees) lon - Longitude (degrees) lev - Hybrid sigma-pressure level (mbar) T - Temperature (K) Z3 - Geopotential height (km) N2 - N2 concentration (mol m^-3) N - N atom concentration (mol m^-3) O - O atom concentration (mol m^-3) NO - Nitric oxide concentration (mol m^-3) NO2 - Nitrogen dioxide concentration (mol m^-3) N2p - N2(+) ion concentration (mol m^-3) Np - N(+) ion concentration (mol m^-3) Op - O(+) ion concentration (mol m^-3) rateNNO - reaction rate for N + NO --> N2 + O (mol m^-3 yr^-1) rateNNO2 - reaction rate for N + NO2 --> N2O + O (mol m^-3 yr^-1) rateN2pO - reaction rate for N2(+) + O --> N + NO(+) (mol m^-3 yr^-1) rateNpNO - reaction rate for N(+) + NO --> N2(+) (mol m^-3 yr^-1) rateOpN2 - reaction rate for O(+) + N2 --> N + NO(+) (mol m^-3 yr^-1) Monthly-integrated quantities DestN2pOglobal - Global N2 destruction rate via N2(+) + O (mol yr^-1) DestOpN2global - Global N2 destruction rate via O(+) + N2 (mol yr^-1) ProdNNOglobal - Global N2 production rate via N + NO (mol yr^-1) ProdNNO2global - Global N2O production rate via N + NO2 (mol yr^-1) ProdNpNOglobal - Global N2(+) production rate via N(+) + NO (mol yr^-1) Related publication information: L.
